About dcNET
This little number here is what you might call an... experiment of sorts. I suppose its primary purpose is for me to show off whatever I feel like showing off. For the most part "whatever I feel like showing off" means my fanart sketches, maybe the occasional finished picture, but it could also include fanfiction, other fan articles and whatever ugly web layouts I am in the mood to mess around with. There's also some other stuff here and there, some of it free for you to use, some of it just random crap I felt like tossing up there. You might find something vaguely interesting if you look around for a while, so... yeah.
The above is really all you need to know, but if you need more detail about anything then read on.
Updates and Update Frequency
Most of the updates are going to consist entirely of artwork. You will see me reiterate this further down the page. As for how often these updates will come, well... ideally they should come whenever I finish a piece I consider moderately display-worthy, which should ideally be at least once a week. I'll also see what I can do about adding new non-artwork content at least once a month. It might be more often than that; chances are that it will probably be less. I make no promises, so don't hold me to much. I will, however, do my best to keep the site from dying if nothing else.
A Note on the Fandoms Featured Here
If it isn't painfully obvious already, the vast majority of the content on this website is Pokémon-related. Pokémon is probably my favorite fandom and the one I spend the most time dealing with. Hell, even if something isn't Pokémon-related I'll probably find a way to link them together. (Witness all the Tales of Symphonia/Pokémon stuff. It's sad, really.) As a result, I can't guarantee you'll find much of this interesting if you aren't a big Pokémon fan. If you snoop around long enough, however, you'll find stuff relating to the other games and things I like: currently Tales of Symphonia, Phoenix Wright and Fire Emblem would be the most prominent, a little Golden Sun and Harry Potter here and there. There are other fandoms I like as well, but I can't currently think of any big ones with any significant presence here at all.
I guess the proper target audience for this site would be people who like Pokémon and a few of the other things I like, then. I sure as hell won't be updating the site with Phoenix Wright content anywhere near as often as Pokémon content, so if that's what you're looking for then I suppose you'd best look somewhere else.
The Fanart
A lot of what I do when I'm not staring at my laptop screen is sketch pictures, usually of Pokémon or dragons. I won't upload my original stuff here--there are other places for you to look if that's what you want to see (my deviantART gallery, for example). The art sections are where you'll see most of the non-Pokémon content. The bulk of the site's updates will probably be artwork. I guess you could call it a personal fanart gallery above just about anything else.
My sketches (and my more polished artwork) can be found on this page.
The Fanfics
I don't write anywhere near as often as I'd like to; it would seem that I have a pretty gnarly case of perpetual writer's block and an evil "inner editor" that demolishes any tiny little scraps I do manage to put on paper/the screen. On the off chance that I do actually finish something and am comfortable with putting it up here, though, I will. (Yeah, right.)
Any fanfics that manage to fight their way out of my head will end up here.
The Fanart...icles
...or whatever you want to call them. Articles, essays, guides, ramblerants... fan-related nonfiction, basically. I can't really think of a proper generalized heading right now. You probably won't see many "fanarticles" that aren't Pokémon-related. Yeah.
The fanarticleramblerantessayguides can be found on the Misc. Writings page.
The Everything Else
Everything else is... everything else. There isn't really any one way to categorize it all, other than the general headings "free stuff" and "inane nonsense". And since that's how I decided to label them in the menu, well... I don't know that there's much more to say. You're free to do pretty much whatever with anything under "Free Stuff" as long as you follow any guidelines I set down there. The "Inane Nonsense" section is what it says on the tin, just random, probably not terribly useful garbage that ended up on the website for no reason other than I Said So. Okay, so some of it might actually be marginally useful and not complete nonsense, but it doesn't really go anywhere else so!
The Layouts
I've had an interest in web design for several years now, and I like to fiddle around with layouts every now and then. And what better place to practice than my own little experiment-site? Whenever I get an idea that I think will translate well to dcNET I'll fire up the old text editor and see what I can bang out before plastering it all over the site. This will probably not be on any comfortably regular basis, so consider yourself warned that the site's layout may change drastically and without warning whenever the hell I feel like it. I apologize in advance if I nerf a layout you were fond of. I'll be the first to admit that I'm currently less than stellar when it comes to this sort of thing, so don't come around looking for anything gorgeous. I am studying web design in college, however, so as time goes by expect the quality to improve by at least a smidge. Hopefully.
Other Stuff
At the bottom of the navigation you'll find links to some of my other websites/projects/whatever. The footer has the disclaimer in it, blah blah blah moving on. Oh, and those links to the W3C HTML and CSS validators. Those are really more for my use than anyone else's, but you can click on 'em for proof that the site is 100% valid. (And tell me what I need to fix if something comes up invalid.)
Free Publicity for dcNET
Um, I mean, if you want to link to the site... uh, well, all I have right now is this one lame little button. Use that, I s'pose, or just a text link to http://dementedchicken.net. If you're going to use the failbutton, please try and host it on your own server (or someplace like ImageShack or Photobucket, failing that).

That's everything. You can go away now.
I may add a history section down here somewhere. Maybe. Don't know yet. At any rate, go away.
